Advanced Metal Sealing Solutions for Fusion and Accelerator Applications
In this case study, we highlight the capabilities of Sonkit’s zero-preload all-metal sealing solution, designed to meet
the extreme demands of nuclear fusion reactors and particle accelerators. Our innovative seal achieved a leakage rate as
low as 10E-12 Pa m³/s, far surpassing industry standards for sealing performance.
Sonkit's composite all-metal seal is engineered to operate effectively in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) conditions and extreme
temperatures ranging from -270°C to 500°C. The seal is also highly resistant to radiation, ensuring it can withstand
prolonged exposure to intense radiation without degradation. With a self-adjusting, spring-energized design, the seal
compensates for material wear and thermal expansion, ensuring consistent performance in challenging environments.
Developed to seal between polymer material flanges and stainless steel grooves, this solution addresses the unique
sealing needs of materials like ceramics, plastics, aluminum alloys, and quartz. It can function with almost zero bolt
preload, making it a reliable alternative to rubber and non-metallic seals in critical applications.
This technology is particularly suited for use in vacuum semiconductor systems, fusion reactors, and clean energy
applications, ensuring long-term reliability and minimal maintenance even in the most demanding conditions. Sonkit’s
all-metal seals provide the high-performance, low-leakage, and long-lasting reliability that these high-tech industries
require.
